Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician is responsible to safely perform tasks involving some physical labor for assisting Precast / Prestressed Concrete Product Production. Candidate will be responsible for performing tests as required on raw materials in process components and final product. Participating in tests, inspections, processing methods and material qualifications. Use of a diverse range of hand tools and testing equipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Capable of operating multiple pieces of construction tools and equipment used in testing precast concrete manufacturing.

This individual uses a variety of tools, techniques, and data collection methods to analyze trends and make recommendations for corrective action. This position provides support to Wells’ Corporate-wide environmental, health and safety program and DOT compliance programs, inclusive of all divisional locations, facilities, and job sites as required.

Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to understand their spare and wear parts needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell spare and wear parts to customers through effective communication, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Offer parts and other Elematic solutions proactively, based on customer understanding and data.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of spare parts to customers.
  • Manage and plan spare part warehouse inventories and replenishment and drive profitability improvements within the supply chain.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with customers to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new sales opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Develop and grow spare and wear parts sales, provide new leads to all Elematic solutions (incl. FaMe, equipment, service etc.) within own region.
  • Provide feedback to management on customer needs, market trends, and potential improvements to products and services.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sales or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, within a relevant industry
  • Solid technical knowledge
  • Solution sales experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Fluent English skills and fluency in multiple languages are a plus
  • Knowledge of the precast industry is a major advantage, basics of concrete technology
  • Experience in working in a multicultural environment

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Daily inspection of precast panels, prestressed beams and other inspections related to precast & prestressed concrete at various producer facilities in the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) District 4/Region 3 Area. Duties will include oversight and observation of all quality control activities within the precast and prestressed, ready mix, and steel fabrication activities.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • PCI Level 1 required, and Level II is preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience preferred but not required
