The Operations Executive is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, strategic planning and execution in the short term and long-term operation of the Plant to ensure the defined goals of the Plant are achieved and sustained, providing direction for the facility, supporting the vision and culture of the company.  This position ensures the team is equipped to meet production and delivery schedules, budgeted cost/efficiency expectations through sound resource planning, provision, continuous process improvement, and to manage people and assets with the future of the company at the forefront. Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directs, collaborates, and coaches our team of individuals who are supported by this position
  • Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Plant within Safety, Quality, Production, Maintenance and Cost Control
  • Responsible on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis for the Plant’s performance against the approved operating budget and forecasts for production’s direct and indirect costs and in ensuring project CTC, achieving overall financial performance targets
  • Support Plant operations and CI Manager in the development, planning, and execution of Lean Strategies and Metrics through technical progress actions, new methods, and organizational changes to maintain company competitiveness
  • Working through direct reports participates in the development and execution of the strategic plan for the Plant
  • Collaborates with Plant Manager to develop production schedules based on project requirements and available resources, communicating long term Plant capacity (over or under tasked) and master schedule to Project Management Department to manage production continuity
  • Ensure operating compliance with all governmental regulations and permits
  • Accountable for implementation and adherence to standards, policies, and regulations for a safe, environmentally compliant Plant
  • Define priorities and directions for subordinates in the management of expenses and control manpower planning
  • Oversee the efficient and cost-effective process of procuring quality products necessary for on-time an under-budget project completion
  • Ensure the execution of production and maintenance programs according to schedule, quality standards and forecasted expenses to satisfy customer commitments
  • Select and recommend appropriation requests for major modifications or new projects to ensure the correct implementation in accordance with time, budget and quality standards
  • Develop and implement plans to mitigate non-conformance to standards and commitments, reviewing departmental practices and improvement with timely action
  • Assists HR Department in the implementation of positive team member relations programs designed to reward and maximize productivity, and job satisfaction
  • Represents the Plant at various functions and community events, including interactions with Business Development and Project Management
  • All other duties as assigned by the President/COO

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related field or equivalent combined education and experience
  • 7+ years of experience in similar role in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis (forecasting budgets, cost containment, recasting, job costing, percent complete accounting etc.)
  • Familiarity with Sage or other construction/manufacturing
  • Preferred Education and Certifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Advanced Degree or Certifications in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related industry
  • Familiar with EOS (Traction)

Physical Demands:

The work environment of this position is within the construction/manufacturing industry. While performing the duties of this position the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid weather conditions, proximity to electrical equipment and vibration. The Team Member is frequently exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, confined space, outside weather conditions, low lighting, and artificial lighting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This position may require visits to construction and manufacturing plant environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear, taste or smell. The team member will frequently be required to walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions.  The team member will occasionally sit, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision for this position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
