Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Precast Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing precast concrete elements, including hollowcore planks, panels, beams, and columns, on a project-by-project basis. This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams on behalf of APS, creating detailed designs, and transferring "piece data" to our production team to facilitate project scheduling and manufacturing.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze precast concrete elements on a project-by-project basis, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Develop and validate structural calculations and connection designs for precast components.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including drafting, project management, sales, estimating, production, and erection, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, such as structural engineers of record and architects, to ensure design alignment and project success.
• Prepare and organize detailed technical calculation reports and documentation for each project.
• Assist the production department with technical inquiries and provide solutions to design-related issues.
• Conduct site visits to perform field reports, ensuring proper installation and adherence to design specifications.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design, preferably in the precast/prestressed concrete industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Strong understanding of building codes and design standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, and PCI.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Licenses and Certifications:

The Quality Control Coordinator ensures the timely production of accurate, industry-compliant shop drawings and 3D models for precast concrete projects. This role bridges drafting and engineering teams by coordinating resources, maintaining quality control standards, and streamlining processes. Additionally, the coordinator supports drafters’ professional development. Ideal candidates possess strong technical expertise in precast concrete drafting.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Drafting Team Coordination

• Act as the primary quality control checker of erection drawings and production shop tickets on assigned projects.
• Act as the primary drafting contact for project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Attend project meetings to provide drafting updates and address technical concerns.
• Review and interpret architectural, construction, and structural drawings, plans, and details from AutoCAD, Revit, and PDF documents.   

Quality Control & Standards Compliance

• Review precast concrete shop drawings, reinforcement details, and 3D models for accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

• Prior experience leading a drafting team or mentoring junior drafters is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

The Drafting Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Drafting staff at their location and on a project basis through execution of their work in a quality, timely, and efficient manner. The Drafting Manager reports to the Director of Drafting and Engineering.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leading a team of drafters to, on a project basis, interface with customers, sales, operations, engineering, and project management to create construction documents using CAD/Revit software. Drawing details include all views and dimensions necessary for clear and accurate presentation, fabrication and erection of precast panels and architectural systems and structures.
• Recruiting, staffing and developing drafting team members.
• Assessing individual performance, providing performance feedback and determining appropriate compensation/rewards.
• Planning and assigning work to the drafting team to meet project schedule and cost deadlines.
• Coordinating with companywide Drafting Managers to enforce quality assurance, effective resource allocation, and continuous improvement.
• Work with Technology Integration team to ensure training and performance coincide with efficient, effective drafting practice.
• Aiding in establishment and maintenance of standards and procedures for generating models, drawings, and associated documents.
