Architectural Students Win Prizes for Design of Precast School

Students at several Midwestern universities took top honors in the 2008 Architectural Student Design Competition sponsored by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute. The annual program’s concept this year centered on designing an elementary school using a total-precast concrete system and incorporating sustainable design elements.

Irwin J. Speyer to Be Awarded PCI's Medal of Honor

Irwin J. Speyer, P.E., FACI, the founder and owner of Irwin Speyer-Consulting Engineers in Croton on Hudson, N.Y., has been named to receive the 2008 Medal of Honor from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, the group’s highest award. The honor is presented each year to recognize a member’s “outstanding service to the institute or contributions to the industry over a long period of time.”
