PCI sponsors and cosponsors a variety of educational seminars to aid in the professional
development of engineers, architects, and others in the construction and design community.
Basic Prestressed Concrete Design Seminar
Seminar Overview
Engineers and design professionals will gain a solid understanding of prestressed concrete design by utilizing a specific design example. The PCI Design Handbook, 6th edition, will be explored as a tool for designing precast and prestressed concrete structures. Hosted at a precast plant, this interactive seminar will integrate a plant tour, providing participants with a clear understanding of design concepts and fabrication considerations.
Continuing Education Credits
Attendees will earn 7.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) or 7.5 HSW-Learning Units (LU). A certificate will be provided at the conclusion of the seminar.

Quality Assurance Programs - Your Foundation for a Successful Project
Audience: Decision makers and specifiers of materials and systems for structures
Goal: The have the audience understand what it takes for an effective quality assurance program.
Webinar Overview:
All projects have expectations related to them, which may differ depending on the stakeholder, yet all must be met. As a method of doing so, all materials and systems are required to meet some form of specification. The question is, when projects have dozens to hundreds of suppliers and subcontractors, and it is impossible to be everywhere at once, how do stakeholders ensure that these expectations are met? Properly designed and executed Quality Assurance programs can help accomplish this important goal. This presentation examines the core requirements of an effective quality assurance program and helps stakeholders understand what to look for and how to evaluate a program. There is more to Quality Assurance than inspections and documentation.
Presenters:
This program has been developed by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). PCI has developed one of the most renowned and copied Quality Assurance programs in the construction industry. For over 40 years PCI has been certifying manufacturing plants of precast/prestressed concrete, personnel and field operations.

High Performance Producer Webinar: Add to your bottom line: A roadmap to improved drafting performance (Part 2 Produce Drawings Faster)
Webinar Overview
Improved drafting performance is a multi-hundred thousand dollar opportunity for most precasters. Accurate drawings, produced faster plus higher drafter productivity are key business improvement opportunities.
Part 1 of this series provided a roadmap to improved drawing quality. Part 2 will show how to produce drawings faster and shorten by weeks the time needed to issue drawings to production.
Over the last several years, MJS Management Services has helped a wide variety of engineering and drafting teams to analyze and improve their performance. This session, designed for executives and managers, will summarize methods to:
• Dramatically improve drafting quality (reduce defects in erection drawings, shop tickets and material lists). Streamline the draw, check and correct cycle.
• Shorten by weeks the cycle time needed to produce erection and production drawings.
• Improve the flow of information to drafting.
• Improve drafter productivity.
• Improve management of the drafting function.
This webinar is for presidents, general managers, engineering managers, drafting managers, engineering consultants and operations personnel who are seeking the benefits of improved drafting performance – drawings produced more quickly, fewer shop ticket and material list errors and increased drafter productivity.
Suggestion: Engineering departments may want to consider this as a learning session for the entire drafting team.
