LEED Resources
Precast concrete can contribute toward LEED and other green building rating systems in many ways. LEED certification has six different categories in which projects may earn points as summarized in the chart below.
Precast concrete has the most potential to help earn points in the Materials and Resources category because it uses recycled content, such as slag, fly ash, silica fume, and recycled steel reinforcing bar. It is generally made from materials that are extracted and manufactured locally with reusable formwork.
